Third Jummah of Ramadan

Have a blessed third Jummah of Ramadan everyone. May Allah shower his countless blessings on you and your family on this blessed day Ameen. Seeking closeness to God and striving for His pleasure during my umrah trip was the goal. I remember sitting inside Masjid al-Haram after performing a prayer in congregation and I said to myself, “If I could, I’d be in this mosque everyday so I could feel this way all the time.” Doing tawaf around the Kaaba is such an immense feeling of love, humility, and peace. When you are performing Tawaf, you can smell the ithar (fragrance) on the Kiswah (black silk cloth embroidered in gold which is draped over the Holy Kaaba) as you get near to the golden doors of the Kaaba. Walking in and around the Haram and Masjid-al Nabawi felt like a different world altogether. Everyone was unified, here in the service of God. All walks of life in varies shades of skin tones cloaked in beautiful modesty. The trip felt like it wasn’t long enough and probably never will feel long enough. The depressing thought of knowing there will be a final day on which I would be returning back home consumed me. I can’t explain what it feels like but all I know is this: I will always yearn to go back there just to feel that way again. I pray we all are invited to the blessed lands soon and often! Amin ya Rabbil ‘alameen!.Picture taken : Our Umrah trip March 2017
