RAMADAN, day thirteen (HEADING – DUA FOR TAHAJUD – IMAGE DOWNLOADED)
The virtues of this Tahajjud prayer are well-known; Imam Ash-Shafi said
“the dua made at tahajjud is like an arrow that doesn’t miss its target”.
Speaking from experience, there are great worldly benefits to praying the night prayer. But more importantly, it serves a higher, divine purpose – that is, the beautiful reward attached to it.
The second hadith regarding the night prayer was when Al Mughira bin Shu’bah narrated, ‘The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood in prayer until his feet swelled. It was said to him: ‘Why do you burden yourself so, when Allah has forgiven you, your future and past errors?’ He said:
‘Should I not be a grateful slave’?
The most beloved Salah after the Fardh prayers is Tahajjud, where a believer leaves his bed and wakes up while the world is sleeping, just to glorify his Lord in the darkness of the night. Is there anything more beautiful than this?
The Prophet SWS said, “You should pray qiyaam al-layl, for it is the custom of the righteous who came before you and it brings you closer to your Lord, and expiates sins and prevents misdeeds.” (Tirmidhi)
Tahajjud prayer is implemented in the final third of a night after waking up from sleep. It cannot be offered straight away after Isha, but only following one`s sleep.
Because it is difficult to wake up in the middle of sleep, this prayer offers the greatest amount of rewards and a great status from Allah.
Lets develop a habit of praying Tahajjud. This will set us on better footing to continue with the Night Prayer Tahajjud for the rest of the year insha’All
